Multi-day Vjosa rafting & kayaking from Përmet, Albania

Raft or kayak one of Europe's last wild rivers, from the Greek border to the Adriatic Sea. Rafting is guided and needs no previous experience; kayaking is for paddlers with previous river kayaking experience. The border-to-sea trip normally takes five days with suitable flow; in summer, when the water is lower, plan six. Nights are a mix of riverside camping and local guesthouses, and trips run all year on request.

05 · Questions

Multi-day questions.

Q01How long are multi-day trips?

The border-to-sea trip normally takes five days by raft or kayak with suitable flow. In summer, when water is lower and the river slower, plan six days.

Q02Can I do a multi-day rafting trip on the Vjosa?

Yes. Multi-day rafting follows the same route as multi-day kayaking, from the Greek border to the Adriatic Sea, with nights at riverside camps and local guesthouses. Rafting trips are guided and need no previous experience.

Q03What experience do I need?

None for multi-day rafting: the trip is guided. Multi-day kayaking needs previous river kayaking experience in every season. If you are new to rivers, choose rafting, or try a day of rafting or kayaking first.

Q04What is included?

Rafts or kayaks, paddles, helmets, buoyancy aids and wetsuits when needed; camping gear (tents, sleeping mats and bags, dry bags); the transfer to the start, luggage moved between stops and the return transfer from the sea to Përmet. Meals are not included.

Q05Where do we stop each night?

Nights are a mix of riverside camping and local guesthouses. Where you stop depends on how far your group paddles each day and on river levels, so we plan the stops together with your group.

Q06Is there a guide?

Multi-day rafting is guided. Multi-day kayaking can be guided or self-guided; we agree this with each group when we plan the trip.

Q07How much does a multi-day trip cost?

We quote each trip after planning it with you, because the number of days, the nights and the guiding are set with each group. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp and we'll send you a price.

Q08When can we go?

All year on request, when river levels and weather allow. Send us your preferred dates on WhatsApp.

Q09Where do we meet?

At our yellow-and-black riverside centre in Përmet, with free parking, lockers, changing rooms, toilets and cold-water showers. We offer pickup around Përmet.
